What is that called? fire shield thingy?

heh Mornin' everyone
I am trying to recall what this thing is... fire shield is all that comes to mind and in searches that isn't what I need.
Basically it is a metal panel that you place behind fireplaces and acts as a heat barrier, fire shield type um thingy. Anyone know what that is called?

Could you be referring to a fire back? Those decorative pieces of cast iron that protects the back of the fireplace but radiates heat back into the room?

Take a look at:
http://www.woodheat.org/safety/safeinstallation.htm

Metal, ceramic, brick, steel with insulation, all different styles are possible.

Behind a fireplace??? Do you mean inside a fireplace behind the fire?

Okay that helps, thank you everyone.

Was looking for a 'heat shield' apparently. A metal sheeting placed on walls to protect from the heat of wood stoves, etc. "29 gauge sheet metal" is what it is made of according to the linked article above.

And held away from the wall by a ceramic hot-fence insulator at each corner. (or at least, that's what my Dad did)
