I don't have pics yet, because it's not built yet, but I'm building one out of recycled windows, still in the wooden frame. The one that I am copying has the center of the roof shingled, but the outer parts of the roof are also windows that are on hinges so they can be raised to allow air in, or dropped to protect from cold. The door is an old glass screendoor. The gentleman that showed me his said his total cost was under $200 and he had to buy his windows. I got mine for free as my folks updated each of their rental houses. All that I need now is the framing for it.

Tiempo, I still cant figure out how to upload pictures but I added an entry in my blog that shows our greenhouse in Alaska, our greenhouse in Missouri, and a hoop house we found in Seattle last summer we plan to copy.
We are relatively new to a lot of this so they are modest but we are having fun with it.

[IMG] [/IMG]If I can remember how to do this, here is a picture of mine. Built using aluminum storm windows and clear panels for the roof. Not completed yet but you get the idea.
If you click on the thumbnail you should see an enlarged pic.

Here is mine, we converted a corner of the shed to a greenhouse. Fiberglass panels on the roof and double pane windows for the walls. The windows are the panes we saved from the newer windows we took out of the house.
I do not attempt to use it year round, only to start seeds in early spring. I have the means to heat it to keep things from freezing if we have colder nights. There is also an attic fan on the thermostat to vent if it gets too hot during the day. Not happening this time of year though.

I made this out of scraps, and paid for the roof material. Total cost was around 275 dollars. its 12x20, 14 ft of the length has the corrugated poly roof material. I used a storm doot in the far end, and I put in a wood stove with the stovepipe running the length of the greenhouse about 4 ft above the ground. Heres 2 pics I took, one outside, one inside. The inside pic, I had young pullets inside. I built the greenhouse among the trees, so that as the leaves come on, the greenhouse gets shade so it doesn't just cook in the summer. But, in the winter, gets all sun.

I'll have to take pics of ours and share. It's mostly recycled wood, Sliding Glass Doors w/screens (given to my husband by his remodel customers) and Craigslist Free Windows. The roof is covered in those clear panels found in the roofing area of Lowes or home Depot (Like the one pictured above). It's not huge but it'll get things started which makes me happy.
And on those smothering HOT summer nights there may be a fight or two over who's gonna sleep in there to catch the cool middle of the night breezes coming in through the sliders.

Basically the design that cdcolburn shows above with the exception that my pipe is on the inside of the frame and not the outside. This allows me to secure the plastic to the top of the frame.
Give careful thought to your heating system. The further north you live the more important it becomes. Heck, this year it's a problem even here in Florida.
