Nature’s Head Composting Toilet

Does anyone own one of these? I plan on buying a composting toilet this year and they are a bit pricey but this one is less than $1000 and has a built in fan.
Thanks.

A simple box with toilet seat above and bucket beneath is awfully cheap to construct.
No need to feed the power grid with an electric fan, either.
Sawdust eliminates odor and insect trouble.

Thanks Forerunner. What a great toilet! I'd love to have one . I asked my dh to build one but he is totally against a homemade composting toilet. He has an issue with the thought of having a 5 gallon bucket with excrement in it in the house but doesn't object to the commercial toilets.

Well, at least you seem to be a country girl, at heart.
You do have my deepest sympathies.

Little more pricey but I've been looking into Sum Mar.Thing is there is a Dealer close by and I can look them over.

Where our Cabin is the place don't allow just a Composting Bucket but will allow the Commercial Composting Toilets.

Thanks Rose. I showed it to Dh and he still did not appreciate the idea. I have no problem with it. My great-Grandmother had an outhouse in town, the town grew up around her home. Anyway, it didn't smell and seemed like a more sanitary way of disposing of human waste than sending it through a sewage treatment facility. I'll talk with him again, a little later. BTW- It's good to hear from you Rose!

By the way Forerunner, I was born at the old Jarman Memorial Hospital in Tuscola, IL and my Great Grandfather was a homesteader on land near Shelbyville. The State purchased the farms for Lake Shelbyville. I had to move to a warmer climate due to health problems so I headed south and have lived in NC for 30 years.

Hey there Big;
Good to hear from you. I looked at Sun-Mar but my house isn't high enough off the ground for the composting chamber.

Go to the Self Contained.They have to be emptied more often but all is above the Floor thats why I was thinking on our Cabin.

It has a Drum that turns and a Heater in it.I'm thinking it runs on the same principal as the Drum Composters that are used for Table waste,that are suppose to compost faster.

I've been through NC twice. You've got the better end of the deal.
