According to the temp reading in my truck it is 31 degrees right now. Which is wonderful compared to what we are facing tonight and tomorrow. We're bundling up and staying inside the remainder of the week.

Thursday, Friday and Saturday, it will be cold enough to freeze the cheatin' out of a Sooner and the whinin' out of a Cowboy.

Lows in the single digits, highs in the low 20s.

Luckily, most of us have laid on enough fat during the summer barbeques that we'll probably survive.

It is 37 right now around the McAlester area. It is supposed to get down to 14 tonight. The high tomorrow is 16 and the low is 7. Friday is supposed to be 15 and the low of 4. We have a 90% chance of snow and freezing rain tonight. As I was taking care of animals this evening, it was starting to mist.

36° just north of the river. Rain, sleet, snow for tonight. Saturday morning it is supposed to be 8°.

Lots of fresh invigorating air.

How cold? Too darn cold. There is something terribly wrong when it is warmer in NH than it is here.

I just hung heavy drapes over the doors and windows of my 110 year old house, stocked up on a ton of firewood on the porch and in the kitchen and am waiting it out until Sunday when it is supposed to start being in the 40s.

It's the Thursday and Friday overnights that are worrying me. Zero and Negative 3. Does not sound like fun to me.

MaMa Crow I'm with you! I'm so homesick it hurts! I am on a campaigne to get the Dw to agree to move back this year. So far I'm failing miserably! I feel if we don't do it this year we will never be able to. I don't care how deep the snow or how cold,I just want Oklahoma skys over my head!

Its now 15 degrees on the ks/ok border, north of Ponca City and by morning its going to be cold 6 degrees, not counting the wind chill. Huddle up and best of luck to all.

Well up here in the N.E. corner of the state we're getting drizzle and it's freezing. I went out about an hour ago to check the blacktop road I live on and it was starting to freeze over. Since I'm a bus driver for a local high school, I will not have to go to work tomorrow. Many, many schools have closed the remaining of the week due to the bitter cold expected. Don't want to take a chance on kids getting frost bit.

It's supposed to get down to 6 degrees here tonight, but with wind chills much lower. We're also supposed to start getting drizzling rain and sleet, possibly turning to snow. No precipitation here yet, but the wind is blowing to beat the band! It's supposed to get down to zero tomorrow night and Friday night, with wind chills of up to 30 below due to the wind!

On the weather earlier today, they said it hasn't been this cold in Oklahoma since the 1980s. I don't really remember it being this cold then, but I do know we had a really bad winter in 1975 or 1976, with wind chills to almost 50 below. I remember that one because we were poor and had our gas shut off. We ended up living in the kitchen that winter, with blankets over the doors and with only an electric stove for heat and no hot water either. We burned that stove up before winter was over, lol. When we had to go down the hall to the bathroom, we had to take a knife to chip the ice in the bowl first. Not sure why the pipes didn't freeze up, but they were fine!

It is colder than a well digger's backside! I dunno what it means, but I learned that phrase when I moved to Oklahoma. Very appropriate right now. The temp has dropped 12 degrees in an hour!

Currently 14F here, with a windchill of 0F. I am taking buckets of hot water out to the animals to melt some of the ice in their waterers - they are all frozen solid. I wish now I had bought several of the 15gal waterers on sale at Attwoods when I was in there yesterday. I could have just turned 'em over, got the ice block out and filled with warm water... My head will never save my legs...
