What kind of work does my vehicle need?

Season's greeting's to everyone. I have a question about my car while driving around 110 km/h, 60 mph there is a vibration in the front of the car. The steering wheel doesn't shake at all though. What kind of problem am I looking at? Wheels unbalanced? Thanks Chris

Could be several things:

Wheels unbalanced
Wheels need alignment
Shocks worn
Ball joints worn
Motor mounts need replacing

You need a good mechanic to figure out what it is.

First thing i'd check is to make sure the lug nuts are all tightened. than look at the tires, both sides and tread to look for damage or warping, if these are negative than the above listed items would also need to be checked.

I noticed my vehicles always run smoother when they are washed and waxed. Maybe a new paint job would really be best. LOL <>Unk

check

get under the front and have someone turn the steering wheel back and forth while you look for loose tierods in the steering....check ball joints for safety or have a trusted mechanic...... wheels speed balanced cures lots of woes. it could be as simple as mud or ice on wheels......how many miles do you have on the car? have you rotated tires lately?

could be one or more of the following,
wheel bearings, shocks, unbalanced wheel, defective wheel, balljoints, tie-rod ends inner and outer

What vehicle? Someone said Jeep, is this a 4wd? Is it a full time 4wd? Some full time 4 wd's use a constant velocity joint in the frt. driveshaft. When it goes bad it causes a shake but not in the steering wheel.

make sure your tire pressure is even all around too. but yeah start with the tires, check the wear etc. You might have lost those weights they put on to balance the tires--if there aren't any weights on the rim you can guess they were lost.

SOmeone who is handy mech wise can figure it out. My hub is good at diagnosing that kind of stuff.

It's a 2003 Jeep Liberty, the tires were roatated about 4 months ago and the pressure is the same for both. It was checked last week. I guess I'll be taking it the mechanic after the holidays as I will be going to Quebec in Jan and want it ready for the drive. Thanks Chris
