Question Any other night owls? Or do most of you get a really early start

Just wondering if the majority of you are up and going at the crack of dawn or if any of you are night owls?

If you are a night owl, how do you work your animals in around that?

I am a night person and always will be. My animal adapt. They realize that breakfast may actually be brunch!! They get used to it. I think it is a schedule, any schedule if it says pretty much the same they are happy.

I was born on a planet with 30 hour days.

I am very happy if I can be up for 20 hours at a time.

Then I am very happy to sleep for 10 hours at a time.

I do not fit well on this 24 hour planet.

As a little kid I wouldn't do my homework until the 10:00pm news was on. I loved being up until midnite - or later. Drove my dad nuts; mom didn't like it but as I got older & smarter I realized she was like me, so she couldn't really fight me on it.

Twenty years in production support and R&D prototype engineering, I got used to often completing 48 hour days where I would work my assigments as required and take 2 to 4 hour breaks to crash in the sleeper bunk in my pickup or go to a restaurant or pool hall to unwind or the truck plaza to buy a shower before returning to work and avoid having to drive the 50 miles home .

Even after a 48 hour day sequence ended, I still would only sleep in 2 to 4 hour blocks.

Now that I am not in a plant environment and work out of my home or on my homeplace, I still exist on the 48 hour day and rely on the calendar, scheduler , reminder and alarm features of my pocket organizer to avoid missing appointments that must be kept and hope the batteries don't die.

Early to bed, early to rise but I'm neither wealthy nor wise. I can adjust my sleep pretty fast, and 5-7 hours usually does the trick.

Other was my vote. Seems my sleep habits are changing.

Up between 4-5 am, snooze on couch at around 9-9:30 pm, up at 12 back to sleep by 2. I was never a night owl until recently and that's only for an hour or two at a time.

Generally thinking about sleep about 9pm, but often not until 10 or 11. RARELY up until midnight anymore.

I wake up at 5am raring to go....Artificer sort of stumbles downstairs around 7. If left to his own timetable, He'd be a night owl...awake until 2ish, sleep until 9 or 10am.

Agree with early to bed, early to rise. I rarely stay in bed beyond 5:00 am. Rarely stay up past 9:00 pm. Often up well before 5:00.

Gotta get up, get a cup of coffee and see the day get started. One of the things that I don't like about winter is that I'm ready to go to bed when the sun goes down. And, it seems to take forever for it to come up in the morning.

Sometimes I envy the other folks in this house who can sleep in every morning. And, take naps during the day, too.

How do night owls deal with the animals? They make their wives do all the morning chores! At least that's the way it is in my house. Somehow hubby always manages to wake up after all the chores are done and breakfast has just been cooked...hmmm...

While I was a night owl when I was a teamster and before my accident. I'm now up early to get to work at my office job, so I'm in bed between 11 pm and midnight..
can't complain though, while i enjoyed the night and still do. I get paid to draw now, so it is an easy job and fun.. If I don't have work, I'm here at HT and there are no complaints for the boss..
