Book on old tractors and implements

My dh asked for a book for Christmas about tractors and their implements. We are buying the neighbors 8N with a lot of attachments. My dh is very mechanical and I am sure could figure out things but a reference would be nice. TIA Annie

Second what Eddie Buck said, and if you're worried about shipping in time for Christmas, you can get a copy of the FO-4 manual at Tractor Supply there, too.

Also, I really love Antique Power, a bi-monthly mag on old tractors. www.antiquepower.com

Hope this helps

These guys are about 45 minutes from me, internationally reknowned for their farm book, video and DVD selection. Machinery, antiques, cropping, livestock, just about everything. Only problem is figuring out where to start.

ENCYCLOPEDIA OF AMERICAN FARM IMPLEMENTS & ANTIQUES 2nd Edition C.H. Wendel maybe?

Actually, I think ebay has the best selection of tractor and implement books.

I would get DH the owner's manual for the tractor.

Jensales and YTMAG is way overpriced, IMO. There is a reason that they don't sell on ebay, and it is probably because they are so overpriced compared to others. I don't think Jensales has great quality either...but again, it is just my opinion.

ebay is a great resource! we have dealer manuals for almost all of our equipment though a lot we have gotten from various dealers closing up shop!
