Eating before hitting the Sack ?

............I work from 2pm to 10pm , 5 days a week . Very easy job , no stress , just showup and do the routine . I workout at the YMCA 5 days a week so I'm not sitting on my butt and I'm trying to limit my caloric intake while at work . But , when I get home , I'm ALways hungary , like I am Right now ! My blood pressure seems to be creeping up so I need too loose about 30 pounds or so .
............I'm thinking some notchO's and a couple of beera's but I'm goona turn off the pooter and hit the rack.......! , fordy

Eating before going to bed is reportedly one of the best ways to gain fat cells as the body is on a reduced caloric expenditure afterwards.

exaclty, eating before going to bed is the worst thing a person can do, best to eat something a couple hrs before and if anything drink ice water to fill up on before going to bed, the body will burn calories to heat up the water to body temp.

I find that if I have a light snack, like a bowl of cheerios, before bed, I sleep better and longer. If I don't, I sometimes wake up at about 4-5 AM with acid reflux. But I'm not overweight and work out religiously, so I can afford it.

There is no problem with eating before going to bed, I have been on a diet plan where you eat every 2-3 hours. My last meal is about an hour before I go to bed and so far i have lost 30 lbs in about 4 months.

Driving a truck I have odd hours and sometimes I'm hungry before sleep. A banana or a yogurt seems to work and sit well.

When you eat before you go to bed your body works to digest the food instead of resting. It's just a fact. Of course we make our own choices, as we have the right to do, whether that choice is good for us or not.

I believe that the eating before bed/gaining weight thing has been debunked.

I like to have a small snack before bed, a bowl of cereal or a few bites of left overs.

Even a glass of milk can do the trick.

i think its been debunked too--calories are calories. i have to watch what i eat before i go to bed----chocolate gives me the worst nightmares and heavy food gives me heartburn so bad i cant sleep. but sometimes i just need something or i just lay there and cant sleep cuz i am too hungry.

Keeping your blood sugar consistant is the most important thing. A smaller healthy snack about an hour before going to bed can be a good thing so you don't wake up with your blood sugar too low and overeat.

If you have anywhere near a normal schedule, the liver begins major processing at about 4 AM, as most anyone who has had gallbladder problems will confirm. Consuming mass quantities just before bed is likely a little worse than consuming mass quantities at any time. Consider a snack and a glass of water instead (or not).

I eat every night about 1.5 hours to 2 hours before bed a nightly snack of High Protein (as one part) and then fruit/light yogurt.

I've lost 130 lbs... so far.

It's what you do the rest of the day that makes a difference and what you are eating before going to bed.

Protein is the most important thing and no fat... for me.

To those who get reflux at night, try lying on your left side..it makes a HUGE difference.

I have lost 55 pounds since April. I am working 2 jobs now - 8:30 am - 4:30 pm at job #1 and then straight to job #2 from 5pm till 9pm. I'm not really hungry when I get home, but too few calories in a day are almost as bad as too many. I have found that a piece of whole grain toast with almond butter, an apple and a glass of water work well for me. Also, for me, once I start a new routine, I begin to look forward to it and don't think about other foods, so now towards the end of my night shift, I begin craving the toast and apple! It's working so far.

High protein, low fat, complex carbs (no sugars/bread/simple carbs), lots and lots of veggies and fruits and eating 5 - 6 times a day.

Portion control + eating 5-6 times a day = never really too hungry.

Portion control + eating 5-6 times a day + the diet above = never really too hungry and weight loss.
