winter wonderland?

Great 10 inches of sideways falling snow today. I wonder where I left the snowblower....... I'll have to launch a kid out the door with a rope around his waist to see if he can find it

What kinda backwoods hillbilly are you to do that to a kid?

Get with the times, send them out with a GPS.

I'm wiser than all of you. Gave my snow thrower to my son yesterday to see if he could get it started. If so, he also uses it on my driveway. Fresh gas, shot of ether, and 2 pulls had it running. Of course, I knew that!

Kid`s 18. His grandfather launched us out the door on that kinda mission when we were 10 and 14 with no rope, and once we got the tractor hooked up there wasn`t a cab and heater to make the job enjoyable, just home made knitted mitts and a skidoo helmet.

Ronbre, we're not buried up here....yet. I reminded hubby to bring the generator up near the house just in case we lose electricity as it's needed for the outdoor woodburner. Being snowed in is not my biggest concern as is being without electricity. Looks like we will be getting much more blowing snow today and in the next few days.

Ross, is that called, umm, "child abuse"?

I sent the dog out the back door and into the wilderness. I watched her tail as she went thru the snowfield. ... Occasionally she'd jump up to take some notes on bearings. The big dog, husky cross, just plowed thru the heavy snow like it was nothing

If I HAD a kid I'd at least give them a phone so they could call home when they found the snowblower and I could tell them which part of the farm to clear first....

I got the skid loader in the shop before the snow hit, so when I get home, I'll get the driveway cleaned out.

You did catch the smile face & high-tech point of my message I'm sure.

Myself I tend to hook up the snowblower to the little cabless tractor most of the time - so much more manuverable than the big one with the cab, I try to tough it out for the hour or so it takes to clear most snowfalls.

Back when dad cleared snow with a backblade on the Ford, the blade wouldn't stay down, so he used me for dead weight. I got to stand there in the cold doing nothing (you know how cold one gets doing that?) and just stand on the blade while he pulled the snow around the yard. And those had to be the miserable snowy years. Oh the memories.

Yep, DH is ready for snow command. The snow is blowing up here (UP) and across the street you can see some patches of grass but near my vehicle it is at least a foot of snow.
The Caterpillers are on the road with their big buckets ready to move that snow - probably to our yard

A few inches of snow is fine. Any more than that and, umm...snow is a 4-letter word.

lol @ Jerry......Being that you live in Minnesota, I find your comment extremely amusing.

I lived in Colorado for a few years, now I'm in Texas. I miss the snow terribly.

When I was 10 and my brother 14 I`m not entirely sure there was any such thing. When I kick my 18 year old out to hook up the blower its called RENT!

I think it's heading my way although it might turn to rain. i only have a small driveway so i left my snowblower out in the country. i use a scoop so if it doesn't turn to rain i'll be out there all night.you can hire people to clean up the snow with snowblowers in here but i haven't found anyone to shovel.i dont mind it though if i dont have to shovel more than 3ft or so because it has to be slung up and over the retaining wall.~Georgia.

Ross, I'm glad to hear you got our little gift. Don't bother sending it back, we're getting more snow over the next couple days. I'm not sure what we're going to do with the new stuff, we haven't really found a place to put the old piles.
