Operation Repo: Anybody ever watch it.....

My wife and I stumbled across it and watched it. It was intriguing enough to watch a few more episodes.

However, some things began looking hokey. I saw Matt punch a guy in the gut and it looked like a fake punch. Upon further investigation, I noticed the little blurb at the beginning in a way to let you know it was not real.

Upon further checking on the net, it would seem that most all of it is staged and scripted. I am surprised that trutv/courttv would have done something like that.

Yep, it is all staged. No one repossessing vehicles runs into that much trouble. Most people know it is only a matter of time until someone comes to take it back and do not fight it. There was another show on about exterminators too and it was also staged.

For quite a while they did not have the disclaimer on the intro and I suspected that it was fake. They must have been getting questions or complaints. I can't stand to watch it at all now that I know it's fake. How stupid.

Reality shows not real? Say it isn't so!

Suppose next, they will say professional wrestling is fake.

i think the discovery channel is one of the only channels to have non-staged shows. they have a exterminating show and dirty jobs and the like.

I've never watched dirty jobs but the exterminating show is staged. I've seen them do too many things that would not work and it is obvious the office politics on the show is staged.

Maybe there are 2 shows. I watched one a few times but I'm not sure what channel it was on. It was a family run and operated business and the most featured exterminator was a tall thin young guy with what looked like goth clothing on. Kind of freakish looking. Most people around here wouldn't let anyone looking like that in their house. It was in one of the southern states.

Think of this. They repossess the car amidst screaming and punching and guns appearing. Then they drive off with the car in tow, while the cameraman films the towtruck and support vehicles leaving. That means, the cameraman is left there with the mad people. I doubt it.

Another fake one is Cake Boss. Sure they make cakes and deliver them, but once in a while a guy will fall down the stairs carrying one out to the van. That can happen, and they might catch it on film by chance, but when they get the guy falling from three different views, it makes you wonder if they knew that cake was gonna fall.

Locked Up Abroad might be interesting if they didn't try to cram a one-half hour program into an hour. Do we need a recap every time they come back from a commercial break?

I've also seen what is now In Session (use to be CourtTv) air the same trial a second time as if it was an original program.

The purpose of any TV program is to deliver an audience to an advertiser. Most reality is too plain for that. Except for Jerry Springer.......

It's a shame that allot of TV shows now are "a waste of perfectly good electrons".

yes this show is fake. we own a repossession company. despite the fact that people know your coming there is normally lots of drama and danger. It is nothing like this and most days if you speak to people like they are humans than they will give you the keys and take their belongings. but then again you have people who pull their guns and even shoot at you because they are very attached to their vehicle. people go to great lengths to hide their vehicles. but as noted before it is nothing like the show.
