We bought some Cutco knives. They're all right, but not on a par with my good old Wusthoff chef's knife. I'd like to try a good hand made Japanese Damascus blade, but I'm not ready to part with several hundred dollars for a kitchen knife.

My favorite knives are Henkels and Wusthof. They both make great knives. I've had some of mine since I started culinary school in 1990. They have great balance, hold an edge very well and will last forever.

Rada makes some good stainless steel knives. I have 2 chef knivesand several paring and deboning knives. They also provide a great sharpener for them also. Im in the process of working up 3 deer, and I always end up with a Rada in my hands.

We used chicago cutlery knives in the packing house I worked at in the seventies.I bought some wooden handled knives at that time and they are still excellent knives today.I am well pleased.

I love my Chicago Cutlery. My husband bought me a small set back in 1972. I think I now have every knife they make. They are great and extremely sharp; an amazing knife. They will even repair them if need be, though I can't see someone not taking care of their knives.

RADA knives are currently available as a fund raiser on the barter board.

You can look at the whole line and order directly from a website. I do believe that some of the prices are lower than if you called the company and asked for a direct sales catalog.

My Daughter's soccer team will benefit if you order using the following information at www.helpourfundraiser.com.

Internet order number 501987
Internet password godukes

Thanks for considering a purchase.

Wusthof. Great knives. They are expensive, but you will only buy them once. In fact, your grandchildren will probably be using them.

Whittaker, made by Alessermeister, Germany. They are costly, but I have had most of my knives for the last 30 years. Have added a few new ones over the years cost $100.00+, loved them.
