Here's the question. My furnace is hooked into my chimey in the basement. The woodstove would be located on ground floor in the living quarters. I'm not going to be using my furnace while I'm using the woodstove. My plans are to use the furnace until the dead of winter gets here, then crank up the wood stove until Spring comes. Is there a problem using the same chimney for both, if they are not being used at the same time. If the chimney was a multi-tiled one, I could hook up the furnace to one, and the stove to another tile, but it's only a one-tile. I'm going to have the chimney cleaned out professionally, and the stove installed and inspected.

You can't do this... I'm going to have the chimney cleaned out professionally, and the stove installed and inspected.
and this using the same chimney for both,
The additional reason I'd not want to do it is because of the very different requirements of wood. I'd greatly prefer an insulated double wall chimney made from stainless. it's much easier to clean and they stay cleaner too.
If your handy at all you can do the install your self and do it right.....
Get chimney pipe at the lowes or depot, get the connector pieces for the roof or wall kit, buy a good englands stove works stove and the total will be around $2000 for the setup. Unless you have a 3 story house or something like that. What kind of house do you have? If it's a ranch style a chimney can be had for 2-300 bucks.
