Yellow tingly finger why!

I was out doing chores, it is wet and raining but not freezing. One of my fingers started to tingle and get numb, when I went inside and looked it was yellow. After about 10 minutes it stopped tingling and was pink like the rest.

Is this from a past frost bite or lack of circulation. Sorry my key board has no question mark, it doesn't work! Lol!

Sounds like it, Denise. You'd likely know if you had had frostbite on that finger tho. I'm currently dealing with a poor circulation thing in my feet. they get all strange looking (kind of jaundiced, bloated, but with red overtones) in the toes. After I walk around a few minutes...all gone.

Might also be a pinched nerve or cramped nerve up in the arm (particularly if it's little finger/ring finger)

I am 53 years old, I live in Michigan, my fingers have been frozen many times, but they look bright red and throb when in the heat. It is my right hand pointer finger, so maybe to much computer mouse! Lol!

Joking aside, I have never had a finger turn yellow before. I will make sure I have good gloves from now on!

It is loss of circulation. I have it all the time. But mine is with the whole hand not just a finger. Also get check for liver problems that will give you yellow fingers. Some yellow is alright but a lot is bad.

My hands are usually yellow, white, blue, or purple in the winter unless I'm in a really warm room or a hot shower. My feet are usually purple in the winter, or when I'm just cold, but sometimes they turn greenish purple. Yuck!

I never really know what causes it, but if I wear gloves inside the colors are less intense and my hands less stiff. I do get some strange looks, though!

But my skin tends to be more yellow than pink, anyway. So yellow could be normal for me but not for you, if you have more of a pink skin.

Thank You! I hope it is not my liver! You only get one, and I have been known to drink my share of beer! I will pay closer attention! This getting old is not nice!

Hopefully it's not Reynaunds...I have that happen but not often, just a circulation thing. If it was serious, I'd have problems by now as this has happpened to me for perhaps 15-20 yrs. (the cold, yellow finger, I mean)

Raynaud's. If you have health insurance I suggest you discuss this with your Dr. If you don't, I suggest you get health insurance in case this symptom/disease means you'll end up needing it soon, however it'll be a preexisting condition. Avoid cold in the mean time- waer gloves.

Also shake your hands vigorously periodically, as though you were shaking off water, to help your blood get to the fingertips.

Don't freak out. Happens to me sometimes, too, and I've never had frostbite.
