Backyard Aquaponics is where I've gotten my AP education over the last several years. A lot can be learned by reading through the long members' systems threads.

You might try looking on the Aquanic site.

I've been earning a living with aquaculture for over 20 yrs. I also grow a large productive vegetable garden using only the effluent from my aquaculture facility for fertilizer. It isn't exactly aquaponics but it works for me.
Aquaculture is not easy, you still have the daily grind as you do with the culture of any animals. It is interesting and can be profitable.
I second the motion to go to aquanic.org, there is a lot of info on raising animals and plants in water.

Assuming you're from WV, get in touch with your county extension agent. There are successful businesses in the state using aquaculture and hydroponics. The last article I read was about a company raising and selling arctic char.

The local agent may not have info at their finger tips but they will have a list of sources for you. I just found out this week that the county high school has an aquaculture setup.

Nice resource run by the university. I am also in WV and looking into it and ran across that link. The newsletters have some good reading also.
