need help with treasure map

I thought this may be fun to get help..

This has been going on since Tuesday(22nd) in Raleigh , NC
and I am up late everynight trying to figure out the clues.

I really don't care as much about the prize as I do just figuring it out.

Even if you are not local I though the clues would still be
meaningful.

Anybody have any ideas ?

Just a guess..but it appears to be referring to Mary Magdalene..If it were me, I'd be looking in the flower bed of the Mary Magdalene Catholic church..

Here are some thoughts...

The numerals are the key, but I haven't figured them out yet.

My guess is that the path starts at a place that has to do with christian religion, probably Catholic, is open day and night, and has things growing with thorns and flowers. the path is followed by seeing the numbers going in order up the left side and down the right...58 7 52 75 18 5 8 75. the path will bring you past a place to do with birth and then will lead you past a library and the key is near a symbol of the sun and you will have passed the place several times already.

Another possibility is that this hunt takes place in a library/ college campus, because the key is resting on a book. Perhaps the path begins at a church on a university in raleigh.

I do so love me a puzzle. Lemme know if you have any ideas about the numerals. I feel like that is where i am really stretching for an explanation..classroom numbers?

I work in Raleigh everyday, so there is a possibility we could get together and brainstorm.

This all makes sense to me, but I would think the key is actually being guarded by a serpent.... is there a zoo in the area?

I figured out what the numerals mean. We went to the place and found more things that matched up, but couldn't find the key.
If you want me to tell you what I learned or just to give you hints, ask. I didn't wanna spoil all the fun.

Oh, by the way, we were so sure where the key should be, that we wondered if it hadn't already been found. I emailed the artist about where we looked so she could go see if it wasn't missing..having been found by someone who didn't know what the key meant.

Man, it was so exciting to decipher the numerals. I felt like some illuminati guy. My face actually flushed as i was doing the deciphering.

may mean "marry" .
