Post Cotton market edgy

As the 2009 growing season winds down, weathers concerns, a world production shortfall and a debt-ridden U.S. economy are primary factors that will likely impact the cotton market over the next few months.

<SNIP>

“Right now, crops look promising in the United States and around the globe,” Egli said. “However, we still have four or five critical weeks to go before the bulk of the U.S. crops can be considered safe, especially since a lot of fields were planted late this year.”

The cotton crop here is ready to harvest, but the fields are soggy from several days of heavy rain, and looks like more fronts are moving in. They already had a winter wheat crop failure because of drouth.

Possible rebirth of the 1970s polyester? We must pray for a good cotton harvest.

Hmmmmm, Grandpa always figured after working in the sequin mines for all these years, he would be rich by now. It seems the sequin market has just about hit rock bottom.

Hey, aren't you supposed to buy low and sell high? Buy sequin stock!!!!!!

I'm ready. Polyester, the 100 year fabric. Got rid of the wife, but there seems to be no getting rid of the butt ugly suit. http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/scan0754.jpg
