I usually dry and store greens. Herbs, queen annes lace, tree leaves, even grass dry and store well. And yes, it is called hay.

Any greens from the veggies that are growing here, are dried for the wintermonths. All rabbits but one petrabbit have been culled and he's in for some treats this winter.
Grapeleaves and tomatovines go into the compost but stalks from beans, peas, and anything he'd normally eat, would go into the supply.

I prepare both traditional and treat hay for the rabbits
make sure you don't dry toxic items for them though

Anything green and cured for storage is called hay, not just grasses. I'm not sure what pelleted rabbit food usually is composed of but I imagine alfalfa.

I observed a cottontail in my yard for about 30 minutes a few weeks ago just to see what all it ate. It went from grasses to a dandelion which it then seemed to favor. Next some white Dutch clover and then some violets that grow wild. When it started on the violets it acted like they were an elixir and couldn't seem to eat them fast enough in order to get to the next leaf. Sure seemed to be a favorite food.

The wild violet http://foxyurl.com/sZm is considered a weed so I expect a pot of them could be easily grown indoors in the winter to provide a fresh treat. Expect a person should make sure a rabbit likes them first before too much effort is expended growing them.
