HT logging me out?

Am I the only one that is being logged out everytime I leave?
I am having computer problems so I don't know if it is the site or my computer.
And yes, I am checking remember me each time I log back in.

Be sure that you can receive cookies. If you can receive cookies the problem is probity with the site. They are having trouble yet again but will probity get it fixed. I have heard of some others that are being logged out.

It does that to me when I use Mozilla, but not when I use Internet Explorer.

You may want to check this thread into the Computer Forum where the computer guys and gals answer such questions - look down near the bottom of the Forum Index.

Also, Admin is where most of these types of issues are posted about, and Admin or other knowledgeable person may be there to help.

I would suggest doing a search in that Admin or Computer forum for this issue - the answer may have been answered a few times.

Thing is...it only seems to be a few people. I never have a problem and I'm on here all the time (way too much, if I'm honest..but addictions, you know... )

There are so many variables that an individual could be having 1 or more problems that are different from someone else who is having the same end result.

Here are a couple things I would do if i had the problem. Use them or not. Since I can't replicate the problem, I'm sorry I don't have any other advice.

Check to see that you can receive cookies from this site.
Look in your "cookies" directory (FireFox has it under tools/options/privacy) for the Homesteadingtoday.com cookies. You need to see bb3password and bb3userid in particular. (those are the cookies that automatically log you in to HT when you get to the website)...hmm...and one that says "lastsession" I think might be necessary.
Check to see that the "remember me" box is clicked.
After those two things are done, reboot your machine. (some of the browsers seem to reset only AFTER being restarted.)
If you're behind a firewall, there may be a problem there.
Run a virus detection program. There are viruses out there that force you to log into sites and then send those keystrokes to someone else so they can steal your passwords. (usually used for bank accounts, etc.)

I'll have to have DH read your 'cure' WisAnn, but I do know this didn't used to happen to me. In fact I didn't even have to log in ever, after signing up to HT. BUT-we had some problems (?) and got new virus protection or upgraded & I thnk it started aftr that. So Im assuning something in my 'pooter doesn't let me stay on a site very long???

Probably just the government kicking you off after they do an IP trace through your internet service provider's router, then into your neighborhood's broadband signal splitter or dial-up log server.
