La Machine Moulinex Food Processor
...does anybody have one? A friend of the family just gave one to me, along with 300+ canning jars. What can it do, how does it go together? I have been searching online for a copy of a manual and can't find one! Can anyone help me??!!??

I have one that I have had for about 20 years. Still use it.. Made shredded zucchini, chopped peppers, chopped onions today. Does it have a white small tube like thing, chopper blade, disks with different cuts, lid and plunger?

For regular chopping, you put the blade in the middle of the bowl. For slicing, you put the white tube over the middle of the bowl with one of the disks on top of it, then lock the lid on.
It will slice different thicknesses, and shred different thicknesses.
When chopping, just pulse the on button off and on for regular chopping. If you want the pieces smaller, you can hold the button down longer.

I have one and would be lost without it! What do you need to know about it?
Mine came with a chopping blade that snaps directly onto the shaft, and a 2-sided disc that either slices or hashes depending on which side you put up or down. The disc is used on top of the heretofore mentioned white tube thing which is inserted into the shaft.
Put the lid on and turn it until it snaps into place, then feed the food into the chute and push it down with the plunger until it makes contact with the cutting blade. (It won't work unless the lid and base are properly lined up and locked down.) Hold the button down to start the motor; push the button on the side to release the lid when you're done. Voila!
I can't believe I canned for YEARS without having a food processor! You will be so happy once you get the hang of using this thing, I promise. LOL

It has all kinds of blades and also has a blender attachment. I have never used a food processor before, so I am TOTALLY clueless! I would love to see pictures of it all set up. I got it from a friend of the family and his wife, who has passed away, use to use it all the time. He has no clue about it. What can I do with it? Will it slice carrots for canning? Will it dice potatoes for canning? I wish it can with an infomercial! LOL

I was given one brand new in the box back 17 years ago and finally got around to using it about 5 years ago. Great tool, does many things.

it'll be ok. Just breathe.
http://www.fixya.com/support/t213234...a_machine_food
...about halfway down the page it gives a webbie to download the instructions. If it isn't for YOUR particular workhorse, I'm sure Google can find it for you.
Your machine, if it's anything like my Cuisinart, can do everything and anything you ever need. It's a FOOD PROCESSOR by very definition. Have fun!

Even if it's a different model, it should help with the basics, unless there's been a big design change from one model to the next one. A lot of the concepts should be about the same.
Over the years, I've used manuals of similar items to figure out how things worked. It's a little more trial and error, but, IMHO, it's better than trying that without any type of instruction.
Another thought is to use ebay to see if you can find another brand of food processor with a similar configuration. Then, try downloading their manual. FWIW, over the years I've had 3 different food processors. Although all 3 were very different in design, the basic concepts of each were very similar.
Hope these thoughts are helpful.
