Water heater/furnace lighter.

I just read another thread that mentioned alligator clips.

An alligator clip soldered or I suppose glued to the tip of an old collapsing car antenna makes for a really good water heater or furnace lighter. Place match in clip, strike to light, and extend into hidden recesses for pilot lighting. Of course not needed on modern appliance with on demand self-ignition.

The ones for sale are a little better as they collapse shorter, but worth the price?

Never had a pilot light yet, that I could not get to, with one of the long shaft gas "barbeque" lighters.

Keepin it simple!
