vent-free LP heaters.....

I plan on buying a 10,000 BTU ventless LP heater. I think Mr Heater makes those.

Here is what I've got. The front of my garage is enclosed and is about 300 square foot and its mostly insulated.

1) Do these heaters work with a 20 pound cylinder? Are there additional connectors I must buy to retrofit?

2) Big buddy heaters, what are your thoughts?

3) Do you have to crack a window for them to operate properly?

thanks

1) yes - http://mrheater.com/product.aspx?catid=355&id=50

2) We have the MH9B heater for our tent. Works perfect and really puts out the heat. The little propane canister only works for about 4 hours (on low) and no one wants to get up and replace it, so we are getting the adapter hose for the 20# tank.

3)They will operate just fine. These heaters have low oxygen shut-off sensors, for saftey. Hopfully most will know if there is a problem, before it gets to that point.

Love the Mr. Heater.

My father heated our farm house for years with a Dearborn ventless heater. They work great. Here's a link for you to look at.

They will work with a 20# cylinder. You can buy a hose that will go from the cylinder to the heater. You must have a source of fresh air. In low oxygen conditions gas heaters put out a lot of carbon monoxide. Don't rely on the low O2 shutoff to save you.

I agree, the Mr Heater's are good for temporary, use once in a while type.
I don't think you would be happy with it, long term.
Not cheap to run either.

You can get Mr Heater models that attach directly to a 20 lb tank,
They do a great job.

I have a gas fireplace in our front room, it works on a grill tank. Had a propane heater in a greenhouse, guess i had it too air tight , it shut off due to too much co2 and ruined all my plants and corms/rizomes in there. No mater what I keep a plug in fume detector in my bedroom and in our 5th wheel( it even has one built in). Dh lost some friends-whole family, due to faulty furnace.
