Want to be the next Dana?

A couple of years ago one of our own was selected to be on Wife Swap - Txclovergirl. Well, another production company has come calling:

This is not spam - I spoke with the researcher last night and she asked if I'd post the following - a TV show that is looking for folks who want to move out of the city.

Are you trading in your cul-de-sac for a cabin? Or tossing the kids' toys as you plan to downsize from a McMansion to a city-based rowhome? A prominent television production company is developing a series profiling families opting to trade in status quo lifestyles for something more adventurous, environmentally sound, or just different.

If you fit this bill, we'd love to hear from you. Please answer the following questions and email your responses to dburrows@shootersinc.com. Don't hesitate to call 215.861.0100 ext. 325 with any questions.

I agree with you Parrothead. We moved from the city to the country 4 years ago to a mostly-different lifestyle... but there's no way I'd want to parade around on tv about it. Posting on these boards is enough sharing in public for me.

Would being exploited on TV pay for my dream lifestyle? That is the question for me.

I doubt they would think our moving further out would be a radical enough change - plus I'd have to keep my house clean..... hmmmm, not worth it to me.

They are 32 years too late for me. I blew off city life in 1977. Where were they?

It's tempting, especially with the economy the way it is...

We left the 'burbs last year, and while this place is a shambles (the status moved up from "wreck" to "shambles" sometime in the past month or so), we'd still leave the noise of the suburbs in a heartbeat.

I wonder if they're looking for people who are in the city and planning a move, for people in the process of moving, or people who've done it and are working at the new lifestyle.

Hm.

I may call.

But maybe not. Like Rose said, privacy is important.

LOL! I may have moved even further up the scale today. I mowed most of the front yard. The riding mower's engine is frozen, so I had to use the self-propelled mower. That "self-propelled" doesn't help much, though.

Oh! I also cleared some of the junk from the back porch so I had a path. I think that may be good for a few points, too.

My life is already more intertaining than any television I have ever seen. The things that happen to us could not possibly happen to someone as often as they happen to us. But through years of marriage we have suffered with the good and the bad and now we look back and have a laugh at all we have done.

I've seen that TV show ... personally, no thanks. I'd never do that nor would I 'swap' my wife for anyone.

Correction: They are looking for people who want to move out of the suburbs.

This is NOT WIFE SWAP - just to clear up any confusion. It's another show that is just in the beginning stages of production. I think they want to do it because people making big life changes is interesting and maybe even inspirational. If you feel that's exploitation, well, don't call them. But there's no need for snarky remarks. We need to work on being more friendly to visitors, I think.

Also, here are the questions.

Name?
Family members' names and ages?
Phone number?
Email address?
Where do you live now (city, state, and type of home/lifestyle)?
Where to you plan to move? (city, state and type of home/lifestyle)?
When will this happen?
Why are you making this change?
What needs to happen between now and your move?
How do your immediate family members (spouse, kids) feel about this change?
