Looks more like it's just a reissue, and not an update. I hope I'm wrong: it would be fun to see how long her lifestyle lasted.

I hope someone will buy this and do a review for us so we can tell if we want to buy it! I read it shortly after it came out, then a few years ago printed the copy that's posted on-line. I'd like to know what happened to her, too!

Well I noticed the link to the "free" old copy is no longer good.

I suspect maybe it has been pulled to get people to see the "new" book.

The cover says updated, so I will probably get it as my curiosity is going to KILL me!

I have a paperback copy infront of me right now although the front cover was torn off. Got this out of a pile of books in the break room last year @ work. Printed in 1980 Bantam Books.
I noticed that on the amazon.com website there are several different versions of this book such as Possum Living, Living Easy Off the Land Without a Job & Almost No Money or Possum Living, How to Live Well Without a Job and Almost no Money . Is there difference between the two different titles or is it just publishers reworking the orginal title?
Also who is this David Gates & why would I care that he wrote the forward?

Farther down the webpage for this unleased Possum Living book the publisher listed is Tin House Books. Then it reads - Revised Edition edition (January 1, 2010) I could'nt find a thing listed on their website about P.L.
Seems like there would be more buzz concering this book considering our current economic troubles.

I am a big fan of Dollys. I hope she's doing alright. I never forgot her talking about her Dads picture he painted of Diogeness?sp, sleeping in a barrel. I always felt a little sypathetic towards Dolly, I kinda felt she experienced some trauma early in life.
