Building Info.

Does anyone know of a software/freeware/shareware program for building?
I know the approx size but need info on details on construction and materials needed.

I've used several of those programs in the past, never been able to get the information that I wanted. IF I was going to use one again, I'd go with "smartdraw". its free for 30 days.

Home Depot has some great books that address your needs....but, then, I'm a book & paper person.

I use Home Designer from Chief Architect. http://www.homedesignersoftware.com/

It is fairly powerful and user friendly. It will give a materials list and will give you a framing view also.
