Scary incident

this morning. Around 9:00 this we were rolling South down highway 65 through Sedalia, Mo. in our new Buick Enclave.

As we were passing the Mo state fairgrounds a truck ahead of us suddenly began to swerve violently. He finally pulled hard to the left and I saw why, thundering straight at me on the dead run, 3 abreast in my lane, about 75 feet away, were 3 huge Brahma bulls.

I thought please noooooo, and slammed on the brakes. One went on the left 1 went to the right the 3rd came straight at me before swerving at the last second.

I pulled into a driveway got out, took a deep breath and checked my drawers. The last I saw of the cattle they were still galloping north.

Not a great way to start a trip, but it could have been a whole lot worse.

most herd animals will avoid obstacles when stampeding though if they dont see you as a obstacle well then you could be in trouble!

glad no one got hurt! or at least hoping no one got hurt still not sure where those bull got to.

Look on the bright side, maybe It was God trying to bless you.It ain't got to be manna raining down from heaven to know God sent it as a blessing. Don't think for a minute that God can't send enough steaks to last you from now on,disguised as Three Brahma bulls out to kill anyone that gets in the way.I'da tookum out rather than waiting for the manna. I love steak, ain't got no idea what manna tastes like (excuse me Lord)But I bet it ain't good as steak..Eddie Buck

I'd hate to be the guy trying to round them up. Glad nothing happened, but animals don't run into objects if they aren't moving. Why would they? They aren't stupid!

Eddie, those bulls belong to someone, and "taking them out" is not an option for anyone except maybe the police.

You just may qualify for the next rodeo, make that the bull dodging contest.
I'm wondering what happened to the truck? Hope it was a pickup/small truck and not an 18 wheeler, those don't just swerve to the left to easily.

Had a friend who one night hit a black cow. He was driving a nearly new Dodge truck hauling three new cars. Totaled all four and almost totaled him. He said he couldn't even see it until he was almost on it.

I almost hit a buffalo. There were three of them walking down the road not 2 miles from our house. Now that was a shock.

I saw someone hit a gray (light colored) horse a few months ago -- it was after dark, and the gray and a bay were running down the middle of the road on a tight corner. The bay evaded, the gray didn't, and totaled the car. Don't know what happened to the horse, but nobody in the car was seriously injured, just scared half to death.

I'm glad everyone was okay!

In these parts there are some "open range" areas. If you hit any livestock, you pay for it, regardless of whether it ran in front of you or not. I've even heard of people having to pay for the "babies" the livestock would have had. Craziest thing I ever heard of.

Of course, I don't think they have these near highways, mostly just county roads.
