Excellent book
I don't keep bees, and I never had much intrest in doing so. Like most others, I have heard that many bees were having survival problems and I have noticed, in the past few years, the population of wild bees that I have seen on clover, etc., is down dramatically.
When I get a chance, on my lunch hour at work, I will often go down to the locally library a few blocks away, and pick up a few books to read when those rare chances of peacful repose allow. Lately, I have been picking up "homesteading" and animal husbandry type books, trying to broaden my knowlege a bit. Last week, I grabbed a few books off the shelf in a hurry, one of which, I thought was a book on bee-keeping (just because I was curious) As it turns out, the book was using beekeeping as a example of things much more important.
The name of the book is "Fruitless Fall" by Rowan Jacobson. This may be a well known book, but I had never heard of it before. I have found this book to be one of the best non fictional books I have read in years. I would heartily encourage any of you that can snag a copy for a week or two from your local library, to read it.
