Generic Roundup 41%. I think I did good....

I have been buying Eliminator from Walmart which is the generic. Its a 41% solution. It cost 14 bucks a quart last year and this year it went up to 20. However, I went to rural king and bought 2.5 gallons for 59.99.....a 41% solution as well. That equates to about $6 a quart. I think I got a great deal. This should last me several years.

I'm not sure.....

The price originally was 89.00 for 2.5 gallons. This was a week only special. All I know is that it is a 41% solution which is what regular roundup is.

I've used the RK generic for several years with good results. I only asked as they're really pushing the Lajj brand in their emails.

I always figured that ....

glyphosate is always the same regardless of who makes it.

Then again, I have some neighbors, in their 80's, who think that if its not roundup, then its second class.

No, some glyphosate is definitely not the same. I usually use Glyfos, which is $10/litre here (all glyphosates cost quite a bit more here). Brand name Roundup usually runs $18-20. You can get cheaper generics here but they're all Chinese with nobody standing behind them, no rainfast guarantees, not labelled for glyphosate tolerant crops, etc. etc. and from talking to people who've used them, they're pretty inconsistent. The Glyfos is a good compromise, made in Denmark so I have at least some confidence that there's some quality control, and they have a rainfast guarantee, labelled for my RR crops, etc.

I have never had a problem with any glyphosate labeled 41% product. Properly mixed with a good crop oil and used in a timely manner all have worked. I would not expect Monsanto who has the RR seed to recommend anything but a Roundup labeled product. If a supplier charges 2 to 3 times the going price for a product they can afford a rainfast guarantee. Far too few people go to the effort to acquaint themselves to the herbicides and the mix methods they use and to calibrate their sprayer to the various applications and equipment used to apply same. I see the custom applicators foul up all to frequently. They fail to get the chemicals properly mixed in a clean tank with the carrier water and they allow mixed chemicals to remain in the tanks too long. Approved tanks mixes are also compromised. The end results are disappointing. Having an applicators license has little meaning in most cases.
