Bleh. It's a crummy beer! Beer isn't supposed to taste like Kool-Aid! LOL!

Seriously, I don't care for the stuff. I like my beer to taste like beer, which is why I prefer micro- or home brew.

Blue Moon... <shudder>

I always thought that Blue Moon beer was appropriately named, because you wouldnt want to drink one except for, "once in a..." (aka "not very often".) LOL.

Again, without looking it up, is it the hot days in late summer after a cool spell?

Here, we usually get a cool rainy week the first week of Sept and then it gets real hot again.

Off to look that one up......

"blue moon" has several definitions:

1. The second full moon in a given calendar month.

2. A really crummy tasting beer.

3. University of Alaska college students backside hanging out a car window. Also occasionally seen in other states such as Minnesota, North Dakota, and Wisconsin.

Dog days:

A very hot period of August usually around the third week, so named because of dogs having high rates of coming in contact with rabies during that month.

Indian Summer:

A warm period after the first cooling spells of September.

Dog Days has to do with the position of the Dog Star during that time. I don't remember the particulars exactly.

I thought it was a song about a sad moon who saw me standing alone without a dream in my heart without a love of my own.

My favorite flavor of ice cream! Has been since I was a lil kid ...

It's getting really hard to find, though.

The dog days are the time during the summer when Sirius, the dog star, is visible. Since it was so bright it was thought to be like a second sun and add to the heat of summer.

(I didn't Google, honest)

This is the modern meaning for a "BLUE MOON"

Historically, seasons were timed by full moons - twelve each year. The moons were named, these names varied with different peoples, names such as harvest moon (in Cincinnati there was a Harvest Moon Festival", growing moon, snow moon, egg moon, Lent moon etc.

Most years have 12 moons with each moon having a name, but some years have thirteen full moons so the early moon was named a "blue moon", which then re-aligned the rest of the year's moons to their proper 'seasons'.

OK I did Google this:
* January - Wolf moon[1], Hunger moon, Old moon
* February - Snow moon[1], Ice moon
* March - Worm moon[1], Sap moon, Sugaring moon, Crow moon, Storm moon
* April - Pink moon[1], Egg moon, Grass moon, Rain moon, Growing moon
* May - Flower moon[1], Planting moon, Milk moon, Hare moon
* June - Strawberry moon[1], Rose moon, Honey moon, Mead moon
* July - Buck moon[1], Thunder moon, Deer moon, Hay moon
* August - Sturgeon moon[1], Corn moon, Fruit moon, Barley moon
* September - Harvest moon (moon nearest autumn equinox)[1]
* October - Hunter's moon[1] (moon after harvest moon), Bunky moon
* November - Beaver moon[1], Frosty moon, Snow moon
* December - Cold moon, Long Night moon[1], Winter moon

The Main Farmer's Almanac started the belief that the third full moon in a season with four full moons is called a blue moon.
