Haven't checked in for a few days but just recently was reading BackHome magazine and they mentioned that John Shuttleworth had died in March at the age of 71 yrs. For all you "youngsters".. John Shuttleworth was the founder of the "original" Mother Earth New Magazine back in the 70's. I still have the #1 issue as many, many years of the magazine stacked up on the bookshelves to still learn from even after these many years. I was so very sorry to hear of his passing..maybe because it reminds me of my age also. Can we really be this old ?? the "back to the land" movement..what a time it was !! Was a true artist and inspiration he was to us all in those beginning days. With no internet we all needed the companionship of others and Mother Earth News brought us all together if not physically..at least through the many pages of the magazine. A few years back I did stop in at the BackHome magazine headquarters in NC.. that was the orginial office of MENS. If felt strange to be where "it all began" even though this fine magazine has taken it's place in more than just the building. So sorry to hear of his passing..and also sorry that many did not learn from his wisdom as we had done. Thank You John Shuttleworth..you will be missed.

I'm sorry to hear that. TMEN was a heck of a magazine in its golden years. He did good work.
