Woodstove help needed

Anyone out there ever tackled bringing back an old wook cookstove? Reason is I bought an old (1920s?) home comfort wood cook stove for $150 with everything on it except for one of the little eyes. I am wondering how to start with this monster. I had to load it myself with a come along and a dolly. Thank goodness it was in the shade that was the only thing I had going for me. Parts are from what I have seen so far are scarce. The Gauge in the oven door is cracked but other than that I was lucky to find it I guess. I soaked it down with pentrating oil today on all hinges and metal parts that I would be tightening up. I am in need of help with this one. Also any ideas if I need to get the top sandlasted? Also a source for stove black would be good to get. Thanks for any ideas

I have re-habbed several stoves, but not a cookstove. In most stove restores, the hardest part for me has been finding replacement gaskets. But that obviously doesn't apply to a 1920's cookstove.

Stove black is available at Agway here. Agway is owned by Southern States collective, so if they have those where you are, they might have it.

If you can't find stoveblack anywhere, send me a PM and I will pick it up and send it to you.

Woodstove help needed

Hey I appriciate the offer. I will try my local woodstove store one town over. I am still worn out from moving that beast I have to return the Uhaul trailier I rented. I will try to post some pictures of it. I am pretty excited about getting a project I can actually take some time with my daughter. I have a bad habit of starting one project then two and so on. I used to post on this board years ago and forgot the true quality of some people on here. I appriciate the offer I just got done shipping some stuff off for a buddy who lives overseas since he could not get the item over there. Now if you have any connections in the Stainless steel fabrication bussines I am looking for a good welder to make a new ethanol set up. I went up to a larger output still. I do not know if I can swing another project without the wife going into a fit right now. Have a good day
