What programmable thermostat?

I need a new thermostat and have decided to spend a few extra bucks upfront and buy a programmable one. The problem is I have no idea which one to buy. My choice is fairly limited by manufacturer, either a Honeywell or a Hunter. I have heard of Honeywell but the only Hunter company I know of makes (made?) ceiling fans.

So anyone have any "Don't buy this hunk of junk" or "This is the best thing going" stories or recommendations?

I like the Honeywell one...never heard of the other. It can be really nice if you set it to warm up just before you get up.

I am pleased so far with my Honeywell I purchased last year at Lowes. It was fun trying to figure out which wires attached where when the wires coming from the heat pump weren't exactly the same as what the instructions were talking about. I had some colors they didn't mention and the manual had some colors I didn't have. Once I figured it out, it wasn't too bad.

We have one of these, that we paid about $80 for. Easy to program, seems to work.

We've had a Hunter up for years. So far the only time we've had any problem was when we got super busy and forgot to change the batteries. Ours is one of the 5 + 2 types. Will get the model # tomorrow...it's late & I tired.
