Help ... tomato plants destroyed ...

Bummer! Do very little gardening because I can't manage much outside work during the heat of the summer. Had half a dozen tomato plants in and something got them ...

Southern Kentucky ... hot here now ... and I'm not all that familiar with the climate/ gardening in this area.

I know someplace I could still get some good sized started tomato plants. Any reason to think I could still get some fresh tomatoes if I replanted?

It's still early enough to make a crop. Our fall frost date in Bowling Green is October 20.

I live in Lee county. Something ate one of my tomato plants and part of my corn. This too is my first summer here, I was told it was racoons.

Raccoons don't eat tomato or corn plants. They will eat the corn kernals but not plants. I would put money on both your culprits being ground hogs. They will eat tomato and corn plants.

As for the original question, yes, you still have time to replant. You can keep them going after your first frost by covering the plants when frost is predicted. You won't get any more fruit set once the night time temps drop but you would get ripe fruit from the plants.

oh...that was a good one, lol.

you should see the old screen on the porch down below. "if you look out your kitchen door and the screen on the porch is riddled with .22 holes, you might be a redneck!"...hehe.
