chanterelles?

it is lighter colored in the photos. in reality it was a bright dark pumpkin orange. is it a chanterelle? anyone know for sure or can direct me to someone who does.

I would be too scared to tell someone from a pic whether a mushroom is edible or not. It certainly LOOKS delicious from here though...

they appear to be chanterelles. the false chanterelles gills stop at the top of the stem these go down the side. i'm going to try 1 using the technique for trying unknown plants.

not a jack o lantern. the cap isn't very circular and the gills run the length of the stem.

All the chanterelles I've seen had more defined gills. A jack o lantern produces a glow after dark by the way. Mushroom ID isn't something to play with.............

Looks just like the chanterelles that I've been picking out of my woods and eating sauted with garlic and butter. Yum, yum!

the pics were taken by my DW about 6 hrs after picking. they dried out a lot before she took the shots.
