Bobcat or something under the deck

This morning early I went outside and there was a critter on the deck that was golden brown 20-30lbs I would guess with shorter hair. I never saw the head or tail to know what they looked like. I am guessing bobcat except for the fact there weren't any spots. It jumped off the deck and went underneath it. One of our dogs smelled it and had his hair up...but he sometimes gets worked up easily.

So does anyone have any ideas of what else it could be? Are there some bobcats that don't have spots? And if it is living under my deck how do I get it to move on?

I have never seen a bobcat without spots. Most likely a fox. He probably won't stick around. How big is your dog? Do you have pet cats? Cats could be at risk from a fox.

Lynx- We had one under our deck but they are not supposed to be here. There were three others that saw it that day and the people on the neighboring land also saw it. Disappeared after it found humans were around.

I have seen a couple of bobcats that had spots, but you could barely make them out for some reason. Those cats had a real "tawny" color also but they were definately bobcats.

Fines Creek, In the mountians of Western North Carolina, near the tenn state line.
Thay say theres Black ones liveing around here too , but I have never seen one.
Though a old air force buddy of mine , who I really trust saw a black one near his house, just north/west of charlston WV.
The so-called experts say thay ain't no black ones.

No cats and the smallest dog is 60lb. The fur was to short I think for a fox or the coyotes I have seen around here. Stray dogs at our house are rare and our dog wouldn't have worried about another dog most likely. '

I will have to look into lynx, young cougars are supposed to have spots still I thought. What ever it is was quiet when it moved. I can see where in the weeds it landed but I didn't hear it at all.
