Mining Claim Pics Part Two

Here's are a few scenes from around the property.

Spring wildflowers are everywhere.

Beaver ponds in the summer. There is a small lake beyond that green ridge and another, smaller one higher up. The lakes are above timberline and stocked by the DOW with trout.

Here is the upper lake. It took these pics last August and our dogs had fun playing in the remaining snow banks.

In the fall the willows and buck brush turn yellow, red and gold.

The high mountain area is so beautiful. Are you planning on being there year round? What a blast that must be to experience all that beaity and serenity. And it looks like you are a young couple so you will have years to enjoy it . Please get that B&B up and running so all us flatlander homesteaders can come and visit!Lol

We spend weekends there year round. It's 20 miles from our home, so easy enough to do that. At this point I have too much livestock (my critters would not be happy in 6' of snow!) and it would be too far to dh's work. Maybe when he retires? We just don't know yet. We enjoy visitors, but you'd have to tent and cook your own breakfast!

Thank you so much. I have the first one of the 1st thread as desktop photo today on my computer at work.

These make me start wondering if my brother needs help in Denver area.

There's something about having lived in the shadow of the Rockies for 7 years, that leaves something in your heart, no matter where you are now.

Thank you for sharing your bit of heaven with us.

Now to save the photos to this computer (and tomorrow the one at work).

Angie

My FIL and BIL worked at Climax.

Then you know the area well. Leadville gets a lot more snow than we do, to say nothing of Climax. That was a lot of snow!
