From doing some Goggling, the HearthStone III is a discontinued model. It is said to be soapstone and a maroon enamel over cast iron, rated at 79K BTU. Here's an outfit that carries replacement parts for it.

This place carries the gasket kit.

The HearthStone company is still in business.

Sounds like a really sweet stove!

I dont own one, but did some looking around for you. Its an older stove, and there are still a few parts available from the factory but most of it is no longer available. Theres some good info here http://www.hearth.com/googresults.ht...sa=Search#1215

We purchased a Hearthstone 1 last summer. We used it all winter and LOVED it! We were toasty and warm - and our old cape is very drafty. The stove we have was made in 1983, but here's a newer version with many updates. Our local dealer has been able to order any parts that we've needed.

I think the stove you have found is beautiful!

I have a small one,
not sure of the number but it is smaller than the one in
beltanes pic..

I love it,wouldn't trade it for nothin.
I have used it to heat a huge 4 bedroom barn type house
it heats very well,
I love that you can see the fire, but get the heat too not like in a fireplace.

hint;oven cleaner works wonders for keeping the glass clean.
this probably isn't much help in answering your questions but
I think it is the best stove I have ever had(and I have had a few)

another hint:get lots of help moving it, they are heavy lil buggers.

We've been using a Hearthstone II for about ten years now.

Great stove.
