any horse trails in texas?

Wasnt sure how to title this one. As I am sure there are horse trails...lol but to be more specific ...> Are there any "rails to trails" in texas country that horses are allowed on? Rails to trails are old rail beds that have been made to accommodate horses and bicycles etc and go for many many miles. I'd love to find land bordering some horse approved rails to trails. Or maybe there are trails simular to rails to trails.

Anyone know of any, fill me in?

Farmgal: Texas has the greatest population of horses and has an equally large number of "trails" for horse lovers. The lush green section of texas in the east had a great amount of early timber production that resulted in thousands of miles of rail lines built to get the huge virgin timber out. Many miles of these road beds were converted to rural roads and often remain as low traffic, sandy, gravel country roads good for horseback travel. In addition, many of the thousands of acres of National forrest and Texas state forrest parcels have hiking and horseback trails. Specific information will require your personal inquiry as I believe the Eastern half of Texas is larger than all the New England states combined. May I suggest you pull up info on the "Salt Grass Trail" for prospective...Glen
