Farm Stays..?

A while back I read a thread that had some links to a Farm Stay type sites/links. I just did a search but can't seem to pull any up.

The one I'm thinking of had places to farm sit while the owners went away on holiday, places in the USA and over seas.

I had it saved in my favorites, but when the old laptop died....

thanks

Well Slev, It's not that we don't like you, or that you smell funny (but you prolly do).

It's just that we can't remember the thread you are talking about!

Let me get this straight... there's a website, where I can go to, and find total stangers, that'd be willing to 'take care of' my place, while I take an extended vacation?

Why fool around with a website? Just put a sign up on the road telling folks you're going to be gone a week or two, and they can come in and help theirselves... this way, at least your 'treasure' would stay in the community.

Kidding........... up to a point...

All comes down to trust. And I may be crazy ol persnickety coot, but I trust very few total strangers, and trust even fewer, with unfettered access to my homestead.

edited to add: my GF accused me of being a smart 'you know what'...[she's online on HT at the same time] I asked should I have included my own 'farm stay' service? with the application having room for lists of goodies??? tasty animals? gun safe combinations? boats, four wheelers, tractors, etc? Ouch, she's hitting me with a 'thrifty nickel' paper......

I think maybe you're just looking for the wrong thing. I had no idea what "farm stays" meant until I opened your post, I'm sure a bunch of others thought the same. Try caretaker jobs, caretaking, house sitting (or maybe in this case farm sitting), something along those lines.

There have been several threads regarding this in the past, but here's one that I saved:

caretakers???

Good luck!

ahhh, thank you that's the same one.

I tell you all, it's getting to where I can only remember a little something about a given subject these days. Almost enough, but not quite there....
