House for $1

Very pretty old house in VA is going to be sold for $1.Well, there is a catch, the house has to be moved.
Here's a link:

They are claiming that it will be very expensive to move the house. Now, I'm wondering something. Instead of moving it; I wonder if some smart guy out there would pay a dollar for the house and just tear it down for salvage? there's got to be plenty of hardwood flooring, beams, old fixtures, millwork and windows in it. That stuff goes for a bloody fortune at the architectural salvage stores. It could potentially be a moneymaker for someone.

There are companies who do that here in New England. Old barns too.

This Old House show recently showed a "deconstruction" firm at work and the goods they salvaged from the project.

The time frame allowed for such as well as the cost of bonds to ensure COMPLETE removal would stop many from doing such.
