Help! Moldy potatoes

I cut my potatoes a few days ago for planting, and I couldn't get them in as soon as I wanted..they are shrivelled and the cut sides are moldy, can I plant them?

They are Adirondack Blues.

If they have not been to badly molded, they will still grow. If they are shriveled already, it sounds like you cut them in some pretty small pieces. I usually cut mine as I plant them.

They should be fine. I have cut tater sets a couple weeks ahead of planting and they did fine. They get a lil shriveled and the cut side gets a bit fuzzy but they grow just as well as ones I cut the day before planting.

I might be inclined to thinly slice the moldy portions off and then dip in a fungicide or sulphur product.

I've found potatoes sprouting from peelings i'd thrown in the compost piles months earlier. They seem to be fairly resiliant.

Do what Windy suggests. That is, slice off just enough to have only fresh potato showing. If you don't have anything to treat them, just let them dry for a day. Should be fine.

Yes you can, I done some last year from store bought taters. In fact I was reading in one of my gardening books that if you can't find seed taters to just buy a sack of taters from the grocery store. It said to wash them as they have been treated to prevent eyes forming so early on them. Wash the spray off of them and let them set in light somewhere and they will start forming eyes faster.
