How to repair spindle legged chairs?

I recently bought some secondhand spindle legged chairs and although they are usable, a few of them have a leg or two that are a bit wobbly. Is there anything aside from replacing them that will make them more sturdy? Can I use a glue or ????

Thanks!

While this product might be a disaster in the long run it may instead work and solve the problem without dis-assembly. http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?p...e&cookietest=1

I would probably give it a try before taking the chairs all apart.

I have had good luck with Gorilla Glue, used per the instructions on the bottle with wetting down the wood etc. Fixed a wobbly table by removing the legs and re-glueing it with Gorilla Glue.

If you have a woodworker near by the shavings from a block plane wrapped around the spindle with glue on both sides and then drive back in.

Wood glue and toothpicks to fill in any space that has opened so you get a tight fix. Then tie a rope around as tight as you can and let dry overnight.
