ATV for tillage?

Anyone use an ATV for tillage? There are several ATV cultivators, rippers, log dollies, manure spreaders etc on Northern Tool: http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/w...atchallpartial

we started this way but upgraded to a tractor. If you have the 4 wheeler you can go that way. BUT dont invest the money to buy one then get the stuff. WE sold all our 4 wheeler implaments and got the real ones for much cheaper.
Our lil 1944 ford does a great job on our small land and thats all we need.
Read the reviews.

I had some thing like that. It was a king cutter. Had to do circles to get it to work. Got the tractor and disk for like $1850. far cheaper than a 4 wheeler and disker.

Are you working the soil or playing in it

A used tractor will work the soil, enable you to get lots of work done. Atv with attachments will let you play like a homesteader. Cost lots more don't do much. Hey just hook a plow behind the family car would work just about as good. Personally I perfer to have the wife pull the plow but she whines.

It is kind of a bandaid for a deep wound - it works, but not quite well.

I agree.
They are pretty much just light duty, pricey, and won't do any real work.
I did use a pull behind mower at "The Place" for ten years, and a snow blade for my driveway, both worked well with-in reason.

We moved up to a tractor.
Tractor does a much better job, much easier and implements are much cheaper.

Atv's are used to get to the tractor and to play with.

My brother has fair results tilling deer plots with his ATV, but that's all he can get into the woods with. You'd be much happier with the results from a tractor.

I knew a fella that wanted to pull a one bottom trip plow plow behind his Honda 250 Recon. I have one myself, there is no way that thing is going to pull something that is meant to be behind a tractor. I would have liked to have seen his attempt at plowing.

My two cents on tillage, get a tractor.
