Dish Network Round 2
Got a bill today from Dish Network saying they had suspended my service for non-payment of a $13.64 bill that would have automatically paid itself on April 14. Seems that in a last attempt to jack me around after my telling them to cancel my service last Friday, they have resorted to this. I called them on the phone to ask what the charge was for and it was for a remote control they had neglected to charge me for 2 months ago.
Dish Network is the biggest Chicken Poop Company I have dealt with in a long time. I wonder if they are now happy with themselves having lost what I expect won't be their last customer.

Good Luck on your time with Dish. If you have a DVR, I might just send you my remote that I just paid for. I'll be ----ed if I will send it back to them.

Count me in as another dissatisfied Dish Customer. Cancelled my service last year & haven't looked back.

I will be cancelling my dish service at the end of this years contract. I have been a dish network customer for pretty close to 15 years. When they first started up, they were definitely more customer focused and seemed to want to keep customers.
When I changed equipment a few years ago, the equipment was junk, the customer service based on my need to call about the junk they provided were rude and the installers were ill prepared to do anything other than the most basic installs.
When my contract is up, I will probably forego replacing it with any other service. The kids are all about grown up and out of the house.

I cancled dish this past winter. They wanted me to climb on the roof and remove the dual lnb and ship it to them. I told them they could remove if the wanted it, or wait till the snow cleared. They tried to charge me for it. I had to really fight with them outsourced customer service reps. I have cable available where I am so it helps to have more than one option. We are thinking of just going back to off air signal. I will miss history and discovery channels though.

Right there with ya' on canceling dish. We canceled about four months ago to go to direct TV. I'm not sure though if it is more fun or annoying telling them no when they call to ask why and get us back every month.

My FIL had Dish. His TV service went out and they wouldn't come out and look at it for 2 weeks (he already went and bought a new TV thinking it was the TV and it wsn't so he knew it was on "their end"). So he called Direct TV and they had a guy there the next day to hook him up. He called Dish and canceled his service. Out of curiosity he checked his credit report a month later. Dish put a note on there they canceled him due to lack of payment!! He NEVER missed and payment and has the records to prove it. He called Dish and they admitted then made a "mistake" and fixed his credit report.
So when you leave Dish, double check things!!

We also left dish network as our service seemed to only work half the time and customer service was horrible!!! We are with directv and don't lose service so we haven't had to call them.

Wow! We've had dish for years and I would not leave them for anything! We always have a perfect signal and have had nothing but the best of luck when I have had to use customer service.

So neither have I, when I have had a problem it was handled smartly and without confrontations at all. And I had them from nearly the beginning also.
Made many upgrades through the years never had a hard time at all. And my final update was to get a HD Receiver BUT I told them at Dish I did not have a HD TV so don't charge me for the HD Channels. And By Golly they did not!
They were great as in order to get upgraded to a HD Receiver one of the regulations was you were to get and pay for the Added HD Channels. But never was.
And I got everything installed with the New SuperDish to get all the channels plus my locals Free Installed, Pipe concreted into the ground, and the HD receiver, all I had to do was sent back my Old receiver, Postage was paid by Dish, and that receiver was over 10 years old and I was only billed 25 bucks~! For the complete system setup. They were great through out the whole deal.

Ditto. Might depend where you are. I'm in Maryland and have been more than satisfied. The guy came to install the dish the day after I called......in a rain storm!!! Took him an hour to get it perfect. I told him I thought it was dangerous for him to be on the roof in the rain. He said, "nah, only if there is lightening"....LOL.

Not only that, but if you go on a Direct TV message board you will read just as many dissatisfied customers about THEM, as Dish has, that is just what happens when, lets see now, Direct has around 15 million Subs and Dish is at around 13 millon+ subscribers. So very close to each in the number of customers, and in that number you are going to have a few dissatisfied with service and it doesn't matter which service you have.

We got rid of Dish and they made us pay of the eq. that we "bought" when we started the service. I won't have any of them.
