Postcard or Postcard from Hallmark - virus

Has anyone heard of this new virus? Is it for real?

I just received an e-mail about it. It's suppose to burn your whole C drive.

I rarely open anything if I don't recognize the sender, but would probably open an e-mail card and have used Hallmark to send greeting cards.

I never open any e-mail greeting cards as they are a good vehicle for malware and viruses, and even if legit the compnaies offering these "free" cards turn around and sell your e-mail addresses so you end up getting a lot of spam.

Oh my gosh - glad you mentioned it. I got that e-mail last night and thought it was funny because it was from Hallmark.org instead of Hallmark.com and said I had a card from a family member. How would they know it was a family member?? I didn't open the attachment, thank goodness.

I wouldn't open anything from anyone. Save the item to the desktop and run a virus scan before you open it. If you get a link to follow, copy/paste it into the search bar or type it in manually, don't click it; the link may say "yourbestfriend.com" but actually take you to "yourworstnightmare.com".
