The book Culpeper's The Complete Herbal is that by the member Culpeper here at HomeSteading Today? I know she writes about spices and herbs a lot...

No, Nicholas Culpepper was a famous 15th century herbalist. His Complete Herbal was written in 1653 and is still widely used today.
