Value of old grain bin

We have an old grain bin (three rings, I am guessing about 1,000 bushel possibly from my research). We don't use it and someone has inquired about purchasing and moving it. I have seen listings on ebay for 275.00 starting bids for someone to purchase and remove from a property. I have seen them in listings for local farm auctions, but never paid any attention to them selling, so have no clue what it might be worth. Just moving it off the property is worth something to me at this point, but don't want to "give it away" if it actually might be "worth" something. Thoughts?

Around here, used bins have been going for .50/bu. That was a year or so ago that I heard that figure. Haven't heard numbers lately.

Any thing is an improvement to you. List it on Ebay and put a minim bid you think is a reasonable offer on it so you won't be giving it away. I would put a $35 minim price on it then anything over that you will be pleased to get.

Grain bin

We just sold our 3 ring hopper bin with auger last fall for $600 and could have sold more if we had them. Not exactly the same thing, but thought this might help.

Real grain bins of 3000 or more bu sell for 10 cents a bu, buyer is responsible for take down & moving.

Small units like yours often sell for $50-100, but one auction I went to one sold for $900. I about fell over! If it hadn't have been a 90 mile drive, I woulda raced home, loaded mine up on the car trailer, & tried to get it to that auction to sell mine too!!!!! NEVER saw anything like that!

So, anyhow, condition means a lot, see any rust at all, or any leaks, you would be looking at 10 cents per bu as a good starting price up here in MN, and something a seller should be happy with.
