Rain Rain Rain

Its raining - we have 1/4 inch so far and its the first measurable rain at our house since early last December. Hopefully the grass in my pastures has survived the drought.

We've only had .03 inches here in central Texas today. However, they say we have an 80% chance of rain for the next two days. I hope we get some. It is so dry here the grass crackles under our feet.

We are having beautiful drops of rain fall here....the ground is so dry and thirsty....much needed....the news stated we had close to 2 inches so far, and more is expected.

We are working up to 1 3/4 inches. Almost time to go and put a second tank on-line on the rainwater system. This much rain is surely a blessing. Hopefully most of it is soaking in. The ground is so dry it is also great that we had some of the rain this morning and it was slow rain. That got the ground wet and allows much more of the harder rain to soak in later.

Blessed, isn't it! Had near 80 degree days & went to bed w/windows open. Yesterday am woke up to 35 degrees & cold cold rain! Couldn't find my sweats fast enuf! And close windows. Finally had to turn on the furnace later in the day...hate to do that after 3/1. But the rain is sooo needed!

Finished the first part of this rainy period with 4.4 inches of lovely rain. It should swell the rivers I usually fish so the white bass, striped bass and hybrids can make their spawning runs. Also there will be enough water in the rivers to float a boat.
