I'm SOOO excited!!!

So, a couple of weeks or so ago I placed an ad looking for someone with a greenhouse who might germinate some seeds for me.

Well, I just got a call from a lovely lady who saw my ad and wants to give me..for free a 12' x 20' professional greenhouse.

She bought her house from a botanist, and she has no use for it..so I'm going to look at it on Saturday.

So...I need to start figuring out how to dismantle, move and re-build a large greenhouse..any tips?!!

I'm SOOO excited!!

If its actual glass then invest in pump up suction cups to remove the panes. We dimantled and moved a large sun room once and they were invaluble. Make a drawing and mark the pieces before you tear it apart.

That is Great! Kinda like winning a raffle or something. Let us know how things go after you look at it or move it & take pictures! I bet it's really nice.

DH and I built one- plans are invaluable. If she has none make your own by careful study and measurement- there were 2-3 different sized panes "A B C" and the plan had directions using those codes- and the frameowrk came in a dozen or so sizes and ditto. Use a Sharpie marker on the frameowrk bits since it'll be hard to measure and classify it- might have special ends or holes drilled. We sold it for 6% its cost to us to an engineer (Army I mean) who with his family removed it from our govt quarters as part of the deal.

BTW our marriage was about to collapse when, because the patio we built it on is uneven, we got to the last 2 panes and they would not fit. Accidentally discovering they have variable height S clips when I went to get a Z clip missing from the kit saved our greenhouse and perhaps our marriage. (THat way we could overlap two panes 1 cm each and make up the 2 cm short of space) (DH was a real sport to help- "Let's take it all back down and see if we can sand the patio level" is something no wife should say to a good husband.)
