Chimney Cleaning tip. Square flue

Everybody cleans their chimney different I guess but I thought I would pass this on for what its worth. I was cleaning mine today. Do it twice a year.
I generally take a long stick and and push it down the middle first and waddle out the middle so you don't get a plug up when you scrape;

I use to scrape with a long handled scraper but it only had a our foot handle. Well one time i couldn't find the scraper one day and I took a piece of metal framing channel and screwed a 1x4 inside it. It was light and 10 ft long. well it turned out to be one of the best ways to scrape a chimney I have ever used and I still use it to this day. When the end gets dull you just cut off and inch or so. You can put pressure on the opposite wall to help keep it against the side. Sort of like a prying motion.

After I'm done a couple passes with the brush and your done.
