Question Milk Paint?

I have been researching a paint I can use on my raised beds that won't harm edibles and came across milk paint. I was just wondering if any of you folks have tried it before and have any suggestions. I have found several recipes but would love to hear from people who have experience making it. Alternately, is there another kind of paint you would suggest that would not harm my veggies?

Heard that the Alamo in San Antonio, TX, was painted with blood milk based paint?

I dunno about exterior use, but shellac is a food grade wood finish for interior use.
